Sahab, Jordan – 19 March 2024 – the College of Advanced Vocational Training (CAVT) completed its “Modern Welding Technologies” course at the Sahab branch in Jordan. This course, which ran from February 29 to March 19, was a collaboration between CAVT, Aljhood Group, and the Ministry of Labour and Rehabilitation of Libya, and was designed to help young job seekers from Libya (ages 22 to 26) develop skills in manual arc welding.

The course aimed to teach participants the fundamentals of manual arc welding, focusing on techniques for vertical and horizontal pressure welding on oil tanks. By the end of the 17-day, 100-hour program, participants had built up their welding skills, preparing them for the workforce.

Training included both theoretical lessons and hands-on practical work, with assessments to track progress. The small class size (15 trainees) allowed for personalized instruction and high-quality training.

The course concluded with a graduation ceremony at the Fairmont Amman Hotel, where participants received certificates, and the top three trainees were awarded gifts by the Libyan Minister of Labour and a former Jordanian Minister of Labour. The event also honored the training staff and acknowledged the CEO of CAVT with a commemorative shield from Aljhood Group and the Libyan Ministry of Labour and Rehabilitation for their efforts.

This training course was part of a broader initiative to improve skills in the metal industries and to enhance international training collaborations. Future plans include expanding specialized training programs, promoting the metal industry through various marketing efforts, and maintaining state-of-the-art equipment and facilities.
