The role holder is responsible for coordinating and supervising the activities of the Internal Audit Unit, coordinate and provide internal audit services, provides the valuable information and financial analysis, identify areas for cost savings, process optimization and increased operational efficiency.
Detecting and preventing financial and operational risks, evaluate the adequacy of internal control systems, identify areas of potential threats and propose measures to mitigate them.
- Develop and implement internal audit plans and strategies.
- work closely with various departments to identify and Conduct risk assessments and identify areas of improvement and setting the risk plan.
- Conduct performance audits (and special audit investigations) to evaluate the efficiency, effectiveness, and economy of organizational operations.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings through performance audits.
- Prepare detailed audit reports and present findings to senior management.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Collaborate with various departments to address audit findings and recommendations.
- Monitor and follow up on the implementation of audit recommendations.
- Lead and mentor a team of internal auditors.
- Provide training and support to staff on internal control and compliance matters.
- Develop and implement the internal audit processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing strategic recommendations to improve organizational efficiency.
- Evaluate internal controls, and develop audit plans
- Periodically examine and report on the organization’s fixed assets register.
- Periodically analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of the control system in place to mitigate risk and promote the control culture of the organization.
- Conduct special investigations and audits as required.
- Ensure the confidentiality and integrity of audit information.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Prepare and present audit findings to the audit committee.
- Assist in the development of the annual audit plan.
- Maintain a high level of professional ethics and integrity.
- Recommend changes in policies and procedures in a way that shall impact positively on the achievement of the goals and objectives of the Audit Unit in the organization
- Undertake any other duties that may be assigned from time to time
- The Internal Audit Manager is expected to maintain a high level of independence and objectivity in all audit activities.
- The Internal Audit Manager has direct access to the Audit Committee and is free from any undue influence or interference.
- The Internal Audit Manager reports directly to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors.
- The Internal Audit Manager has a dotted reporting line to the CEO of CAVT for administrative purposes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, professional additional certificates preferred i.e. Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or equivalent certification.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in internal auditing.
- Strong understanding of auditing standards and practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic.

- Proficiency in data analytics techniques and tools to support audit procedures.
- Experience using data analysis software (e.g., ACL, IDEA) for audit purposes.
- Knowledge of the TVET sector, including relevant regulations, funding models, and quality assurance frameworks.
- Experience with audits or assessments of TVET institutions or programs.
- Experience with managing or auditing grants and funding programs, particularly in the TVET sector.
- Knowledge of compliance requirements and reporting procedures for TVET funding sources.
